Password… the weakest link: the human factor

For many years, passwords have been the preferred method for users to authenticate and gain access to computer systems. It’s no surprise then that passwords should be kept secret.

From a security perspective, passwords should be memorable for users, but also have a certain level of complexity to prevent hackers from easily ‘cracking’ them.

The million dollar question is then: “do people really take their passwords seriously?”.

The following video answers this question and exposes the most common problem faced by IT Security; the human factor. Many users don’t take their passwords seriously and they can be tricked by experienced social engineers to give them away. Scary; but also funny! 🙂
