Although many people have only heard of mainframes on movies or even believe that mainframes are an obsolete dying technology, the truth is, today mainframes are still a vital piece of technology in our society.
To this date, 96 out of the world’s top 100 banks and 23 out of the 25 top US retail companies run a mainframe and IBM keeps investing billions of US dollars in research and development in this technology.
